Upcycle your Clothes with a Custom Linocut Stamp @ Ground Coffee Shop (Jan 21)

$45.00

Want to learn how to make your own stamp and print it on clothing? Come join us from 6-9 pm at Ground Coffee Shop on Wednesday, January 21 for a stamp-making and printing class.

The session will start with guided instruction on carving techniques, and then you will have time to trace, transfer, and carve your stamp(s). You’ll receive one 4×6” linocut block and you can either make one larger design or multiple small stamps. I’ll have some Matisse-inspired floral designs and postage stamp-inspired designs ready, but if you have a design in mind you are welcome to bring it along! You don’t need to be good at drawing for this :) Though please note, carving is time consuming (I’ve given us 3 hours) so if you decide to go with your own design, please think simple designs (I promise you’ll be more satisfied)!

About 2 hours in, we’ll pause and I’ll demonstrate how to print on clothing. You’ll then get to test out your stamp on scrap fabric and then print on your clothing item!

Please bring a light-colored clothing item you would like to print on - whether it’s a t-shirt, pair of light-colored jeans, or sweatshirt. Black and blue ink will be available.

All other materials for stamp making, carving, and printing will be provided, and kits will be available for sale at the end if you want to take tools home.
